Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple interfaces (internal and external), relationships and communication to ensure software delivery is aligned to meet not only the customer requirements, but also adds value to the business.
- Manage and lead design, development, and maintenance projects, to meet their Scope, Quality, Time, and Budget. Responsible for Team and People management
- Develop a long-term technology road map.
- Manage the performance and career development of a team of engineers.
- Provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs.
- Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.
- Responsible for full lifecycle of software engineering project (planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, resolution of issues, and achievement of the targets) within agreed quality, time, budget, and other agreed SLAs.
- Lead the team to resolve technical challenges, lead unit level initiatives to build technical competency to meet the needs of the team or unit.
- Promote and instill a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency to the software/business processes.
- Be an evangelist for technology & represent TechJini in external forums.
Essential Skill Sets:
- Demonstrated track record of building and driving usage of highly successful consumer mobile and web apps with high-scale server-side infrastructure.
- Proven track record as a strong and effective engineering leader – managing and growing successful teams.
- Should have a deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available set-up.
- Should have hands on experience in web technologies at some point in their career.
- Should have hands on experience / knowledge on MAC/iOS or Android or Blackberry or J2ME development.
- Should have knowledge of web services, XML, JSON, experience of integrating services in mobile apps.
- Should have knowledge of security, encryption, HTTPS etc.
- Very strong analytical skills, problem solving ability.
- Strong customer focus and passion for doing the right thing for the customer.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish trusted, effective relationships across diverse sets of stakeholders.
- Ability to learn quickly, openness to experimentation and employing new techniques, building a culture of innovation.
- Software Engineering experience with track record of driving multiple products/versions from inception to delivery.
- Knowledge of end to end SDLC
- Ability appreciate complex problems with a thorough design.
- Experience working and collaborating with geo distributed cross functional teams.
- Prior experience in building infrastructure for instrumenting, reporting, monitoring and alerting.
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking and fast paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills and an ability to hire and retain strong teams.
